TOURS & RATES

If possible best to reserve tours a week or so in advance

Tours leave from the town of Samana or from the end of the Peninsula in Las Galeras

(1) BARCARDI ISLAND
 

• 8:00 a.m. Leave for tour to where boat leaves for the island

• 12:00 p.m. Hot meal of Dominican Cuisine served on the beach with non alcoholic drink

• 5:00 p.m.  Return

This is the famous Bacardi Island where it was thought that the Bacardi Rum TV commercial is said to have been made.  It is a breathtakingly beautiful island of about one square mile.  A gorgeous 20-minute boat ride to the island where, along the way, you see the entire peninsula from afar, but in the sea.  It is a beauty you won't soon forget.

The sand on Bacardi Island is as white and as fine as flour.  The water is clear and blue, purple, green, and aqua; coconut trees line the beaches for those who would prefer the shade.  The island has several very quiet and secluded beaches.  Beautiful resort on the island where luncheon buffet is served.  OR freshly caught fish by native fisherman, cooked on the beach with rice and beans.  Tropical drinks, piña coladas with fresh pineapple.

Places to snorkel.  Some months:  water skiiing, surfing, and various other sports are available.

2-4 persons $35 U.S per person.  Includes meal and one non-alcoholic drink.

(2) BEAUTIFUL RINCON BEACH (Playa Rincon)

• 8:00 a.m. Pickup from Bed & Breakfast

• Beautiful ride through the interior by vehicle or along the coast by boat

• 12:30 p.m. Dominican cuisine served on the beach by Chuck & Kim

• Cooler with cold drinks and bottle of rum

• 5:30 p.m. pickup / return (except Wednesdays & Saturdays which would be 4:00 p.m. due to meetings).

Rincon Beach - one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world, is located on the other side of the Samana Peninsula and is breathtakingly beautiful being framed by picturesque mountains with sky to sky coconut trees.  Snorkeling (bring own equipment) and swimming.  Freshly caught fish by native fisherman, cooked on the beach with Dominican cuisine.

The road to Rincon is unpaved, very rocky & muddy & after rainy periods it is nearly impossible to go by car as the road is so bad. The best as well as fastest way is by boat from the end of the Peninsula.  However, going by vehicle, when this is possible,  you can see the little Dominican "ranchitos" (Dominican houses), and how the "campesinos" (peasants/poor people) live; cooking on charcoal outside in open palmetto thatched kitchens, grinding coffee beans by hand or squeezing oil from coconuts, carrying water jugs on their heads, or washing clothes in the rivers enjoying the real culture of the people!

This is one of the most beautiful picturesque beaches in the world, with mountains as a backdrop.

Rincon Beach can be reached via vehicle with a scenic tour of the interior of the Peninsula on the way. Or if road is untravelable due ot a previous period of bad weather, tour can be arranged by BOAT from the Las Galeras tip of the Peninsula.

Rates by VEHICLE:  Minimum two persons.  2-4 persons:  $70 U.S. per person; this tour includes freshly caught fish on the beach with drink.

Rates by BOAT:  Beautiful 15-20 minute ride heading north along the eastern coast.  $5 more per person than by vehicle:  2-4 persons:  $75 U.S. per person (includes meal as well)

(3) TOUR TO EL LIMON Waterfall on horseback.

      

• 9:00 a.m. pickup from B&B

• To Manzana ranch for horses and guides to waterfall

• Swim/take photos of waterfall

• 1:00 p.m. Return to ranch for fantastic buffet of all-you-can-eat Dominican cuisine

• 2:00 p.m.  Return - OR - additional tour available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays (see below)

• 2 persons (minimum) $65 per person
  3-4 persons - $60 per person

(4) 2:00 PM SCENIC TRIP OVER THE MOUNTAINS TO LAS TERRENAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PENINSULA OF SAMANA

• Tour to Las Terrenas via town of El Limon

• Swim at one of the beautiful beaches or

• browse through the many interesting quaint little souvenir shops located along the main road

• Return via road to Sanchez over the mountains for the views of the Peninsula shown in photos below

• Return 5:30 to 6:00 PM
   

2 persons additional $15 per person for afternoon tour.

This afternoon tour is only available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

Beautiful panoramic view of the entire Peninsula while crossing over the Samana Sierras to the little village of Las Terrenas, located on the northern coast where there are many beautiful beaches
 

(5) LA PLAYITA BEACH:  Las Galeras for full day

• Transportation from town of Samana to end of Peninsula to beautiful "Playita"

• 8:00 a.m. pickup for full day on the beach

• 12:30 p.m.  Dominican cuisine served on the beach by Chuck & Kim

• Cooler with cold drinks and bottle of rum

• 5:30 p.m. pickup / return (except Wednesdays & Saturdays which would be 4:00 p.m. due to meetings)

1-2 persons:  $50 each

3-4 persons:  $45 each

(6) ANADEL BEACH / Cayeno Beach Club:  Full day

• 8:30 a.m. pickup from B&B

• 4:00 p.m. return

• Lunch not included (available at the Beach Club)

Anadel has a nice beach club with great chaise lounges, music area, really clean beach, spotless bathrooms and changing rooms with showers, souvenir shop, water sports rental.

Cayena Beach Club's restaurant is huge and beautiful and a nice place to sit and read, play cards, etc. should there be showers during the day.  It has an a la carte menu - excellent Samana style fish and delicious "dulce de coco" or coconut dessert.  Several times a week at noon, they have an all-you-can-eat buffet for approximately $10 U.S.

2 persons (minimum):   $40 U.S. each

3-4 persons:   $35 U.S. each

EL CATEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (AZS)

Chuck & Kim's Transportation Service provides airport pickup service from El Catey International Airport, with brothers meeting you as you come out of Customs.  Travel time from airports to Samana ranges from 45-minutes to one hour depending upon weather conditions and traffic.  On holidays, travel time may be a little longer.

If flight is delayed, the brothers will wait for your arrival. Upon reserving make a note of Chuck's e-mail address and cell phone number in case of a delay or change in flight time.

Kindly try, if at all possible, to give us a week or two notice for reservations.  To hold reservations, payment in full must be made at the time of making reservations, or six weeks before arrival.
